Chill Huntsville was founded on February 1, 2018, by Reverend Cornell Martin. The organization actively works in Huntsville and its surrounding areas, focusing on several key initiatives. Chill Huntsville was founded on February 1, 2018, by Reverend Cornell Martin. The organization actively works in Huntsville and its surrounding areas, focusing on several key initiatives. We promote preventive measures, identify warning signs of potential youth violence, and encourage young people to report concerning behaviors. Additionally, we collaborate with schools and community resources to tackle youth violence and develop local action projects aimed at reducing the risk of violence in schools.
Raising Awareness:
Chill Huntsville and Stop the Violence are raising awareness about the everyday dangers that citizens encounter through discussions, community initiatives, protests, petitions, media outreach, social media, and various other methods.
We are challenging the attitudes and behaviors that need to change. We urge individuals to make better choices and decisions while encouraging communities to support our efforts. We advocate for stricter gun laws and longer prison sentences for hardened criminals. Additionally, we host an annual outreach event, which began on June 24, 2019.
Preventive Measures:
We advocate that prevention should begin early by educating and engaging young girls and boys, promoting respectful relationships, and teaching discipline and work ethics.
The Chill Huntsville Organization serves as a voice against violence. We believe that violence can be prevented when teachers, pastors, and law enforcement are equipped with the tools to identify, intervene, and assist individuals exhibiting at-risk behaviors.
